Trish
Job Title: Canine Trainer
Location: terrigal
Hi, I’m Trish,
I am the Trainer at our Terrigal Resort. I love working with dogs and their owners to create better relationships and stronger dog/owner connections.
My interest in dogs started when I was a Chef after getting my first dog, Roxette. With her I attended puppy pre school and agility. This made me realize that my heart was not in cooking but in the dog industry.
So I changed career paths and got work in a kennel. I completed my Animal Studies Cert II, Companion Animals Cert III and a Cert III in Dog Training and Behaviour through the National Dog Trainers Federation.
The dog training course peaked my interest in Scent Detection so I rescued a dog, Jed, that was suited to scent work so I could peruse this avenue. I was lucky enough to go to Victoria and complete a Specialist k9 Search and Rescue Course, instructed by some of the best scent trainers in the world. I loved my time volunteering in the NSW SES k9 unit.
I have rescuing many death row dogs, trained them and found them new forever homes, and have volunteered as a trainer for Dogs for Diggers program.
I worked in kennels for many years, working my way through the ranks and now have the job I always wanted… training dogs at a fantastic boarding and training facility.

Tegan
Job Title: Canine Evolution Trainer
Location: terrigal
Hi, I’m Tegan.
I grew up in the Northern Rivers always surrounded by animals. My parents rescued a red Kelpie we named K9 (like from Dr Who) from out the front of a simple shop in Nimbin. She was such a beautiful girl and I have had an affinity with Kelpies and all dogs ever since.
Before coming to Canine Evolution and Pet Resorts Australia, I was a Pet Store Manager and Puppy School Trainer, we had a big focus on family and very close relationship with rescue groups finding homes for guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and hosting adoption days for dogs. I wanted to be able to really help these animals and prevent the dogs from being surrendered due to unwanted behaviour. I became a dog trainer so I can help people and their dogs have a stronger connection and build a more understanding relationship.
